What is a Link Building Strategy and why do I need one?

Before we get in to the link-building strategies that make you money we need to go over a couple of (quick) reasons why back-links are important. For those of you who are "experts" please feel free to skip to the next module.

I am not going to dig to deep into the reason back-links are important but I will break it down quickly. A back-link is a link from one piece of web content to another, In Google's eyes every time I link from this page to another page i am giving a "vote of confidence" in the site I am linking too. 

Simple enough

It gets a little bit more complicated than that, though, because every "vote" is not weighted the same. In fact many people like to link from Squidoo, because this site is well rated in Googles eyes for web 2.0.

Now lets move onto back-linking strategies and how they work. To get your Squidoo lens, Blog Post, Web-page or article to rank you are going to need a lot of back-links.  Hopefully from more reputable sites, but really a big part is a variety of links.
