Recently internet marketers have been attacked by a Penguin. Previously it was a Panda. Who knows what the next Black and white creature to attack us shall be... It could even be the dreaded Honeybadger update (as you can see from the picture above)
Niche sites have long been a sought out model for people to make money online. Often these were fairly thin sites, with fairly thin content that relied on Google ranking them highly (through SEO optimization and backlinks) to bring in traffic to convert to whatever sales model they were based on (amazon, CJ, Adsense etc.).
Not too long ago, Panda came and stressed content. Now the penguin came and bashed on sites (Many with good content) that Google felt had just broken some rules, in the letter or the spirit, and deserved to be punished.
